Hello, I came across a series of crim law questions that are premised on the following statement: "Questions 21-25 are based on the four case summaries below. For each question, select the case that would be most applicable as a precedent..." I found that, although I got most of the questions on the exam correct, I got almost each of these questions incorrect. I was applying the elements of each crime in priority over the facts of the cases presented. Apparently that was not the right thing to do. Of course, I think these questions are screwed; but I wouldn't be complaining if I had gottent them correct. Does anyone have any general advice on questions like this? Thank you

Personally, I think the best way to approach it is to read the hypo at the bottom of the question first. If after deciding the elements for the crime are not met then you can discount two of the case summary choices off the bat (either should be reversed/should be affirmed). Then you have to decide between two which should be a lot easier.

Remember the hypothetical they give you will be based on the actual law. If you apply the law to the facts (cliche I know) then it should make it a lot easier. If you want to post one of the questions, I am happy to talk you through how I approach it - others may do it differently but every little helps right.

Oh, that's awesome news. I thought it might be an experimental format, but then I pondered why they would publish those as released Qs. Thank you both!
