I have left NY constitutional law to nearly the end of my review since it doesn't seem to come up very often. I've heard that when con law comes up in NY essays it usually is referring to individual rights of federal law, not NY law.

I have the BAR BRI book which does not give a substantive review of NY constitutional law but gives the NY distinctions for con law. I've read through it but haven't put it to memory. I was wondering if any one knows which distinctions are important to memorize, if any?

Thanks!

If Con Law comes up it is usually in the Multiple Choice and it is maybe 1 question. It is an extremely difficult essay topic because there are very few cut and dry issues of Constitutional Law. When it is tested in an essay usually it is an issue that would be the same on the MBE. The only real exception to that is in Crim Pro where you have a slightly different standard for evaluating informant testimony vis a vis search warrants. At the end of the day, if that is the one Con Law distinction you know that is plenty
