Posted By on 23 Nov 2009 01:22 AM Hey to everyone out there. Don't quit. I took the bar and passed it on my 7th try. I tried everything before to pass and would come literally less than a point to 80 pts. This last time I didn't study at all. I was caught up in work issues and custody battle. I signed up because I thought I would have some time but it didn't work out that way. Even though I didn't study I thought I had nothing to lose. I couldn't get my money back and give up my time for three days just for the chance of passing at least I would be better prepared. It worked. I passed. I can't tell you why I did. It is a total crap shoot. I have no idea why I passed when other times I was so much more prepared. I didn't even finish one of the essays which I thought doomed me. The fact of the matter is you really don't know. You can't know how you're going to do. All you can do it prepare the best and then make a go of it. The only thing I know for sure, quitting won't get you anything.

Posted By on 21 Nov 2009 12:46 PM Don't worry about it. I live in NJ and am retaking the CA bar. You can still do bar review and it doesn't matter where you live. I have a friend who also took the CA bar and he lives in the UK.
Posted By on 21 Nov 2009 04:00 PM Posted By ak on 21 Nov 2009 08:08 AM FIRST OF ALL CONGRATS FOR THE PEOPLE THEY PASSED CA ok i am loosing it!!!! I don't know what happened I was sure i nailed it BUT i checked last night and I lost the CA My only consideration was my MPT'S Now i wait just for the letter with the results I am going for barbri .Passed NY with barbri. Unfortunately i don't live in CA and taking the course is very difficult ANY suggestions???? Hi i am in a similar situation. I took ca bar of july 09. I felt I nailed it too. but I checked the results yesterday and my name is not on the list. I am in disbelieve that I just want to see the letter to say what they hell did they do. How could I fail, if I did so well. I guess they could screw us up w/ the PT b/c that is completly subjective. I am NOT taking CA again. It is NOT worth it. We dont' have jobs here and licensed attorneys are struggling. I'm going to take the NY bar exam for Feb 2010. I am wondering if you have a license in NY, why do you want to take Ca? Also, did you take barbri for NY in 09 or 08? I have 08 barbri NY books and I'm wondering if the law has changed. Any imputs would be appreciated.

Posted By on 21 Nov 2009 04:02 PM Posted By on 21 Nov 2009 01:33 PM No offense. But my suggestion would be to improve your English/writing. My guess is you didn't do well on the essays, and that might be partially because the graders couldn't understand your writing. Maybe you should read the grading criteria for the bar in CA b/f you start advicing. Grammer or spelling are NOT taken into account. Also, just by saying "no offense" does not make your offensive statements non-offensive. If you don't have anything helpful to say, don't say it - that is the rule of thumb.

Posted By on 21 Nov 2009 04:43 PM Grammar and spelling aren't taken into account technically, but any grader would give lower scores if someone like the OP actually wrote entire essays or PTs like the retard he is.
