Posted By on 23 Nov 2009 01:22 AM Hey to everyone out there. Don't quit. I took the bar and passed it on my 7th try. I tried everything before to pass and would come literally less than a point to 80 pts. This last time I didn't study at all. I was caught up in work issues and custody battle. I signed up because I thought I would have some time but it didn't work out that way. Even though I didn't study I thought I had nothing to lose. I couldn't get my money back and give up my time for three days just for the chance of passing at least I would be better prepared. It worked. I passed. I can't tell you why I did. It is a total crap shoot. I have no idea why I passed when other times I was so much more prepared. I didn't even finish one of the essays which I thought doomed me. The fact of the matter is you really don't know. You can't know how you're going to do. All you can do it prepare the best and then make a go of it. The only thing I know for sure, quitting won't get you anything. congrads! did you take feb 09?

Regarding the post about studying for the CA bar out of state.... Barbri will offer a CA course anywhere so long as you can get about 15 people to sign up for it. I studied in MN this summer and organized a group of 12 and BarBri agreed to have the course for us. It was great. Good Luck! |

| Agree with you. I just lost very valuable 5 minutes of my life reading this bs. people are taking advantage of the fact that they can post anonymously and take out their anger inappropriately. you guys are in denial and need help. oh, yeah, and we don't need attorneys like you in CA or elsewhere. |

| what is with all the stupid bashing on this site? Big deal if someone has english as a second language. If it bothers you so much then don't respond. I could read and understand what the poster meant. There are a lot of petty assholes here. I hope they pass so they can move on. CA bar sucks, get used to it, but the stupid bashing needs to stop. This forum is not even helpful, just a bunch of A-holes. |

If you really did pass NY, then I guess that shows what a joke all non-CA bar exams are.
No one cares if you speak 20 languages besides EnGrish. Bottom line is that your English sucks dick. i hope you feel much better about yourself now you have a xenophobia problem get some professional help and advise your phychiatrist about your new obsession
AS FOR THE NEW YORK BAR JUST TRY IT for your next dream and discuss it again with your phychiatrist I am not insulted by mental people like you
Well said. Congrads on passing! I strongly suggest that you stay in NY a more diversity friendly state. Here, CA SUCKS! all racist bastards!
My friend CHANGES come with fights and I WILL BE IN CA and I WILL kick the "b.." of the aforementioned people . I know who I am and I don't need some ignorant uneducated "m...." in CA to tell me where I am going to live and practice And yes I passed New York in July 2007 |

Posted By on 21 Nov 2009 06:48 PM ak, John, b/f you start giving people hard time, take a look at yourself. It took you what like 10 years to finish law school????? If you are a perfect English speaker, I guess that did not help you much huh! Grow up, that tells me that those who passed the CA bar are nothing but babies. People like you lose their license b/f they even get it.

Posted By ak on 21 Nov 2009 08:08 AM FIRST OF ALL CONGRATS FOR THE PEOPLE THEY PASSED CA ok i am loosing it!!!! I don't know what happened I was sure i nailed it BUT i checked last night and I lost the CA My only consideration was my MPT'S Now i wait just for the letter with the results I am going for barbri .Passed NY with barbri. Unfortunately i don't live in CA and taking the course is very difficult ANY suggestions????
Hi i am in a similar situation. I took ca bar of july 09. I felt I nailed it too. but I checked the results yesterday and my name is not on the list. I am in disbelieve that I just want to see the letter to say what they hell did they do. How could I fail, if I did so well. I guess they could screw us up w/ the PT b/c that is completly subjective.
I am NOT taking CA again. It is NOT worth it. We dont' have jobs here and licensed attorneys are struggling.
I'm going to take the NY bar exam for Feb 2010.
I am wondering if you have a license in NY, why do you want to take Ca?
Also, did you take barbri for NY in 09 or 08? I have 08 barbri NY books and I'm wondering if the law has changed. Any imputs would be appreciated.
I took barbri live in New York. They were great. Passed in july 2007. I am in the admission process. Did not put immediately my papers in for admission Anyway The law didn't change . But in 2007 we had changes to the rules of prof responsibility Before you take the new york bar read postings about the judicial system in new york state and what is going on

Posted By on 21 Nov 2009 01:33 PM No offense. But my suggestion would be to improve your English/writing. My guess is you didn't do well on the essays, and that might be partially because the graders couldn't understand your writing.
Maybe you should read the grading criteria for the bar in CA b/f you start advicing. Grammer or spelling are NOT taken into account.
Also, just by saying "no offense" does not make your offensive statements non-offensive. If you don't have anything helpful to say, don't say it - that is the rule of thumb.
thank you

Posted By on 21 Nov 2009 04:43 PM Grammar and spelling aren't taken into account technically, but any grader would give lower scores if someone like the OP actually wrote entire essays or PTs like the retard he is.
thank you for you comments. English is my 5th language and I PASSED NEW YORK AND I WILL PASS CALIFORNIA DESPITE YOUR COMMENTS. thank you
